in gratitude
for today is a gift
precious and unique
once taken
never to be
repeated.
my heart
sings out in thanks
for I have been given
one more chance
to be the person
I know
I am meant to be
to say the things
I know
I am meant to say
to listen
as I know
I am meant to listen
I ask God
to walk with me
as I venture out
into this virgin day
full of promise
full of opportunity
full of responsibility
for the world needs
my compassion
His arms surround me
and the angels fly
about me
I am safe
I am loved
I am new again
and so it is
Hallelujah
